Psalm 8

"O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic
is your name through all the earth!
"Your majesty is set above the heavens.
From the mouths of children and of babes
you fashioned praise to foil your enemy,
to silence the foe and the rebel.
When I see the heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars which you arranged,
what are human beings that you keep them in mind,
mortal creatures that you care for them?"

The scones are out of the oven (just a touch of grated orange peel), and the baking utensils are washed. One of my favorite ways to pray on a Sunday morning, and I am filled with gratitude for it all.
