Psalm 11

This may be the one of the few  times  you will read a post of mine that includes fire and brimstone. However, I find this to be an intriguing psalm, and oddly comforting, probably because of all the illegal fireworks last night that disrupted the sleep of many. Yet, many humans live in far worse conditions caused by the fire and brimstone that others have chosen. Such a heavy burden to bear.
Let us continue to walk a path of peace, wherever that path may take us.  God is in God's temple, and we are in it as well. May we learn to tend to it a little more reverently. How else can we learn to see?

"In God I take refuge:
how can you say to me, 'Flee like a bird
to the mountains;
for look, the wicked bend the bow,
they have fitted their arrow to the string,
to shoot in the night at the upright of heart.
If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?'
God is in God's holy temple;
God's throne is in heaven.
God's eyes behold,
the gaze of God examines humankind.

God tests the righteous and the wicked,
and the soul of God hates the lover of violence.
God will rain coals of fire and sulfur on the wicked;
a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

For God is righteous, and loves
righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold the face of God.

  1. I love the first line.
    In God, I take refuge.
    Ok, I like the rest of it also..but this morning line one will suffice

    Have a blessed day?
