This psalm is actually a royal wedding song - one that celebrates opulence and power and is interesting to read. However, the comings and goings of royalty seldom mean very much to me, so I return to Nan C. Merrill.
"Hear, O peoples, consider and
incline your ear;
forget what has gone before you;
turn your feet to the path of Love.
Open your hearts to the Beloved,
learn of humility, be blessed
in brokenness,
For these are the treasures stored
in eternity."
Psalm 45, abridged
Psalms for Praying,
Nan C. Merrill
